Tatu Vuolteenaho was born in 1968 in Ylivieska, Finland. In the 80's he was inspired by the new romantics and synth-pop.

Tatu went to New York in 1989 for two years. There he was a club kid in Disco 2000, studied photography at F.I.T. and made his first exhibitions in the Limelight.

In the 90's Tatu studied in the University of Lapland (MA), did an exchange year in Manchester and started DJing. He participated in Plastic Pony happenings and Rosa Liksom's films and made 16 exhibitions.

He moved to London in 1998. There he was a web designer and an active clubber and photographer. Tatu was part of the electroclash era with clubs like Löyly, Nag Nag Nag, The Cock and Horse Meat Disco.

In 2007 Tatu studied Spanish in Valencia and after that returned to Finland. He started the Drag Attack parties in Helsinki and continued them in Spain.

As a DJ Tatu V has played from chill-out to hard techno from clubs in Sao Paulo to forest raves in Finland. Highlights include playing at Burning Man Festival in Nevada and Ibiza Pride pool party.

Tatu has been photographed for The Interview (by Steven Meisel), ID, The Face and Vision (China). "Housewife From Mars", documentary about Tatu was on Finnish TV in 2014. "We Are Here We Are Queer" video by Andres Senra featured Tatu at Madrid World Pride in 2017.

Tatu Vuolteenaho's recent art project was Drag Attack. He organized parties where DJs dress up in drag. Tatu painted portraits of the artists that participated in 2013-2016.

Currently Tatu is working on Queer Witches portrait paintings.
