Stockpot - Lovely school food with wine
by Tatu Vuolteenaho

We wanted to go somewhere nice but not expensive and ended up at Stockpot on Old Compton Street. Jason had grilled salmon steak with salad and boiled potatoes and his comment was "edible version of a school dinner". Ruta had breast of chicken with mushrooms and spring onions and she said "lovely". Kenny had escalope siciliane and his overall comment was "good wine". I had penne with spinach and ham and thought "lots of good healthy spinach". We started with 1/2 bottles of both white and red wine but enjoyed the occasion so much that ordered more. Meal for 4 with 2 bottles of wine was £35, which we thought was very good value.
