April 4, 2006 NYC PUNK DISCO by Jim Stanton HORSE MEAT DISCO: This week Sunday 9th April sees the drag going back in the box for a while as we begin a series of amazing guest DJs for your disco fix. Our first special guest Jason Drummond AKA DJ Spun comes all the way from New York and has been a musical collaborator with some of Horse Meat Disco’s favourite past guests such as Daniel Wang and Eric Duncan (Rub and Tug). A key player in various U.S. music scenes since the early 80's, he got his start playing in San Francisco bands and has shared the stage with such punk luminaries as the Dead Kennedy's, Black Flag and Social Distortion. Whether he's playing old school disco, deep house, techno or some leftfield lunacy, his DJ sound is always soulful, full of feeling, with a nod to his punk roots and a wink at the future.
