September 25, 2004 Montreal World Film Festival by Simone Bowkett Highlights at this year's Montreal World Film Festival included the much talked about premiere of 'Around The Bend' directed by Jordan Roberts. Set in SW America, it is a story of 4 generations of men all of whom had offspring at an young age. the great grandfather passes away, and so the other 3 head off on a road trip to search out an old family secret. Starring Josh Lucas, Michael Caine and Christopher Walken. The latter winning best actor - there is also talk of an Oscar for Walkens performance. Another was Fatih Akin's wonderful 'Head On' which is a story of Turkish immigrants who enter into a marriage of convenience after meeting in a mental hospital. Despite the predictability of them falling in love, this film has very real performances that will impress. Watch out for it. Montreal World Film Festival
