June 11, 2006 SHOWTIME: YOU BETTER WORK! by Jamie E17 The Musée Galliera presents a first-ever exhibition devoted to the fashion show in all its aspects – time, space, sight and sound - from the 19th century to the present day. Showtime reveals the performance, the function and the view of a fashion parade by setting it in its historical context, with some 300 different fashion artefacts: haute couture, and ready to wear clothes and accessories, photographs, fashion magazines, videos, newsreel footage, maps, models, decoration, invitations and more. Showtime spotlights the fashion houses and designers who have made the fashion show what it is today: Poiret, Chanel, Dior, Quant, Courrèges, Rabanne, Mugler, Gaultier, Comme, Miyake, Lacroix, Van Beirendonck, Margiela, Galliano, McQueen, Chalayan and many others.
