DESIGNER DUTCH
by Jamie E17

Eelko Moorer is a London based Dutch designer working freelance on self-initiated projects for interior, footwear, film and video and performances, focusing on small-scale production and one-off pieces.

From 1975 he studied 3D design at Utrecht School of Arts, and Design Products at the Royal College of Art. Since then, he has exhibited his work internationally. Some of his innovative designs include the D.I.Y shoe, vein boot, rubber bearskin rug and placebo stilt heels (pictured).

His aim is to make designs that break out of the ordinary and into the extraordinary, resulting in an individualistic approach to make personalized designs that can define the identity of a person or a space.

On one current project, Eelko is working with fashion designer Rui Leonardes.
