August 6, 2006 SUPER SUPER SIMIAN by Jamie E17 Simian Coates is a self taught photographer and image-maker - He likes to call himself this, as the camera is just one tool used to produce a final image. He is the Photographic Director of Super Super magazine, and set the direction of it's visual content right from the begining of the project, originally called SuperBlow. Working from his home and studio in Hackney, Simian is not restrained to one discipline. He turns his camera on any subject and gives everyone a similar treatment, collaborating with some of the newest and freshest talent emerging out of the London club, music and fashion scene.
