Glasgay!
by Lady Munter

Scotland's annual celebration of queer culture, Glasgay!, kicks off this Friday with a launch party at the plush Malmaison hotel.

Over the last three years the festival has grown in scale and profile with audiences climbing to just over 24,101 visitors in 2005.
And, as with previous years, the festival features an exciting and exuberant line-up of events from comedy, theatre, visual arts and clubs. Stand-up from the likes of Jason Wood, film debuts including Filthy/Gorgeous - The Trannyshack Story, and parties such as Utter Gutter's Guy Fawkes Ball and Burly's House of Horrors, amidst a heady mix of queer ceilidhs, make this the highlight of the pink calendar in Glasvegas.

The festival runs from the 16th October - 12th November.

Malmaison Hotel, 278 West George Street, G2.
