February 15, 2007 GILBERT & GEORGE: MAJOR EXHIBITION by Jamie E17 Eccentric art duo Gilbert & George have been shocking the art world for decades and this week they present Six Bomb Pictures, at their long-awaited retrospective and largest ever exhibition, which they say is their most chilling work to date. It includes a 14-metre triptych entitled Bomb and five other pictures entitled Bombs; Bomber; Bombers; Bombing and Terror. The pictures are drawn up from 136 Evening Standard billboards which the artists have been collecting for two years. The art is less offensive and more reflective than some of their previous work.
