BASSO AND BROOKE A/W 07/08
by Gemma Winter

The cut of the garments took inspiration from the retro futurism of Cardin, and Courrèges. With a colour palette of cream and black juxtaposed with metallics and interspersed with Basso & Brookes’ signature prints.

From 60s mod-style silk shift dresses, and sophisticated black printed chiffon blouses teamed with gold pleated puffball skirts. To the latter part of the collection, which saw the design duo move in luxurious eveningwear, which would be more at home at the Parisian couture shows.

The oversized pixelated coat is the key piece, and will be on the must have list of any self respecting fashionista. A collection that has its quirks but is overall very wearable.
