GENERAL WORRY AT VIKTOR & ROLF
by Antonia Leslie

The crowd waited for the Viktor and Rolf spectacle. Baited breath turned into sighs of sympathy as the girls walked out with very heavy looking metal cages and tungsten lights (not to mention speakers) attached to their bodies at the back and shoulders and suspended over their heads. They were also walking, just about, in high-heeled Dutch Clogs. All of these fashion accessories and the fact that the clothes were altered and suspended from the cages made the show rather difficult to judge.
The clothes were infact based on Dutch folkwear with peasant checks, shawls and crisp high-buttoned shirts. The beaded necklaces with cameos were really beautiful. The presentation itself won the day and everyone was pleased to talk about the danger and how scared the girls looked.
