POKING FUN WITH YOHJI
by Antonia Leslie

A very grand environment (la bourse de Paris) with a wonderfully ornate ceiling to look at whilst waiting. Then just when you least expected a logo out popped Yohji's quip at the fashion business. A leather coat and matching weekend bag on wheels covered with a "Louis Vuitton" Yohji logo walked down the catwalk.
The show continued, although nearly all black, with a cracking sense of humour. Motor controlled spinning crinolins, "Louis Vuitton" logos, headresses between a religious sect and Eastern European folklore and lots and lots of spots. The finale found the audience clapping and cheering for a man who looked just like the designer in an upstairs window. Was this yet another joke...who knows?
