Wild Tigers I Have Known
by Kim Jakobsen To
"You have to see this movie! There's a scene where a boy in a Mickey Mouse sweater lies in bed and jerks off with red smudged lipstick on. And with beautiful music! It's you!! Just like you! "
When my best friend tells me this, of course I have to see the movie. Wild Tigers I Have Known is a story about a boy who in order to get closer to the coolest kid in school pretends to be a girl. The film deals with painful desire, confusion, adolescent longing, curiosity and teenage isolation. With a cast including Lydia Lunch and Fairuza Balk, and the co-producer Gus Van Sant, Cam Archer's feature film debut have already got a cult status. His style is refreshing and more similar to a music video, with sound effects, time bending narratives and jump cuts.
Abosoultely a film to see.
