RICHARD NICOLL SPRING/SUMMER 2008
by Princess Julia

Fashion like music can all be about personal taste, when you go to show obviously you have some idea of the creators style. This season Richard Nicoll showed off his talent with vision after vision of ‘looks’ that in essence gave the impression of simplicity-a colour palette of whites, muted shades and colour washes accented with gold, sequin and bejewelled underpinnings. His tailoring, layering and take on classic shape upped his anti beautifully. I particularly noticed the shoulder tailoring on his mac style dress coats, the way his transparent skirts were complimented with pleating that discretely covered any naughty bits and the way he had it all accessorized with highly covetable handbags, floaty ‘puritan’ hats and the highest of heels.
