GILES DEACON SPRING/SUMMER 2008
by Princess Julia

There’s something very charming about Giles, having said that there’s something very charming about Giles’ latest collection. His confections this season are awash with the colours of sugared almonds. Perfectly formed frocks tiered, ruffed and puffed wafted down the aisle of his beloved Rochelle School, which in itself has a fairytale quality and sets the scene perfectly for this most intimate of fashion rendezvous. All is not as it seems and like true fairytales that belie a horror, his slaughtered Bambi print shows a reflective side to the nature of our most gentlemanly of designers. Traditional yet subtly radical, always truly glamorous, Giles’ visions of ‘ladies’ fashions for next spring are exactly what I want to be wearing!
