Art Hypermarkets in Siena until Jan 9
by Tatu Vuolteenaho

Palazzo delle Papesse in Siena, Italy has opened its third series of exhibitions this year. The exhibition ”Art Hypermarkets. Protesting Consumerism" isolates a trend that has been recurrent in contemporary art since the first avant-garde movements: the focus on mass-culture since its birth and the chronicle of its aggressive escalation through its most characteristic aspect, consumerism and the objects it produces. This exhibition deals with the contestation of the goods: artists using their ways of expression to criticise and discuss the basic models of industrialised society and mass-consumerism. Also KCTV’s “Lifestyle”, the milk carton dress story with Kurt and Die-or is shown in this exhibition.
