January 28, 2008 KATE MOROSS FOR TOPSHOP by L I Z With her unique brand of graphics & illustration, it wasn't going to be long before this icon-in-the making hit the Highstreet. Quite literally. I went down to see Kate doodling her way around the main window in the Oxford Street store - in their first ever live art installation - to mark the launch of her science-inspired graphic jersey collection. As she divulges her inspiration for this particular collection, a fascination translated into visual meaning becomes clear: 'The vocabulary behind astrophysics is phenomenal, you have words like quasi-stellar objects'. I see. Exquisite typography & diamond shaped lines make me hot under the collar, not to mention big words. Kate, we salute you, but pass me that towel first. Or that Oversized Birdie T... hint hint.
