March 26, 2008 Las Fallas festival in Valencia by Tatu Vuolteenaho It’s the biggest and most spectacular street party in Europe. During 5 days in March there are over 300 fallas sculptures around town, parades with traditional costumes and music and lots of noise and fire. Two million people come to Valencia to experience it. You can hear firecrackers all the time, it sounds like warzone. At Plaza Aytamiento they do Mascleta show every day at 2 pm and it’s so loud that earth shakes. And people love it! During the last night all the art works (the biggest and best sculptures take months and tens of thousands to create) are burned, only one favourite piece is saved for the Fallas museum.
