April 10, 2008 Graham Durward by Temposhark Graham Durward's paintings are compellingly beautiful. Whether it's his swirling lines of incense smoke frozen in time or lean naked torsos with mysteriously masked faces, Durward's unique voice gives me a massive kick inside. Originally from Scotland, Durward now lives and works in New York. Luckily for us, Maureen Paley brought Durward back to London in October 2007 for her exhibition at Frieze, and their relationship continues to blossom into 2008. A number of his paintings were recently exhibited as part of Paley's stunning group show 'The Hidden'.
