KOMAKINO
by Gemma Winter

After their first catwalk presentation in September 2007 design duo Komakino were back again at the Vauxhall Fashion Scout venue, showing as part of the Blow pop up show. This season saw the continuation of the minimal palette of black, but with the odd pop of beige.

The collection was a natural evolution from the previous season, discarding the over sized shapes for a more parred down functional look, designer Federico Capalbo commented "We mainly started researching fascist and Soviet architecture and monuments. We wanted the idea of decadence which we analysed too. We wanted to refer to these very old strong buildings which are now falling apart." Which was reflected in the design detailing and tailoring of the garments.
