Grand Lux at the grand palais
by Antonia Leslie

Having thought that fashion week was empty and trying to avoid yet another crisis conversation, Chanel happened and suddenly there were thousands of people. Defying the "crise" what fun. The Grand Palais was packed with models and dedicated followers of fashion. The set was huge and starkly simple against the Victorian iron and glass roof. This combination was perfect for the monochrome yet very Coco show. All the blacks:shiny, tweed, satin, and matt. There were the suits with skirts to the knee, quite strict and sober. Wide trousers with cropped jackets and long coats. White was used like accessories with oversize cuffs and collars becoming fabric necklaces and bracelets, a clever transformation of Chanel jewelry. Emerald appeared, lovely touch and what a surprising colour for Chanel.
