James Richaeds resolution 07-31.10.09
by Kenny Campbell

James Richards' creates video and sculptural works using found and reworked material for both media. By assembling, re-ordering and adding sound, Richards' montages produce a new series of narratives. The process of re-editing re-positions the material - by subtracting specific events or by emphasising certain moments, Richards removes the particular and creates more enigmatic moments with complex subtexts and purposeful ambiguity.
For this exhibition, he will create a number of short video works along with a sculpture made up of a stack of the book cover ‘A Woman In Your Own Right, Assertiveness And You’ by Anne Dickinson.
