fly me to the moon
by Antonia Leslie

Sonia Rykiel showed in the Jardin de Tuileries in a tent with hundreds of guests, including Madame Rykiel seated in the front row. The atmosphere was happy and relaxed, as were the models. This is her signature as well as the stripes. This time the stripes were in mohair or cashmere and once came out with huge reading glasses, very funny. The knitwear was casual with cardigans slung around the waists like belts or just with empty sleeves hanging and even cardigans worn as skirts. Through out the show the oversize net pompom remained glued to the girls head like a moon orbiting the earth. She gave us a great party finale with all the girls dressed in floating feathers in unusual colours, greyed peach, subtle khaki, cream and chocolate again. Powder puffs and smiles.
