black magic got me in it's spell
by Antonia Leslie

Gold pillars, painted Baroque ceilings and huge crystal chandeliers. Under all this opulence came the girls with simple cotton covered bee hives like Rasta women covering their hair from the sun.The show was in the ballroom of the ex Intercontinental Hotel.Hot colours, diagonal striped leather, mohair spots, mobile heart pendants and chiffon frills. A huge eclectic mix of influences and styles with the scarved heads serving as the thread. There were shift dresses in patent leather with fur trim, hot hotpant suits with hoods and optic print dresses with frilled fronts. The sharp colour combinations were really good, red grape and tangererine, fushia and vermilion, hot pink and dull purple. A very intercontinental casting added to the slight black magic feeling and we all left in a trance.
