Ilha Grande in Brazil
by Tatu Vuolteenaho

This island was one of the highlights during my trip to Brazil. It's in Rio de Janeiro state and if you go to Rio and want to see something else too this is highly recommended. There are only a couple of thousand inhabitants in the island and it's not overdeveloped with tourism. It's mostly just lush green atlantic rainforest and amazing beaches. There are no cars in the island and you get around by walking or by boat. During the 5 days that I was there it was perfect temperature: 26 degrees at daytime and 22 at nighttime. There was lots of rain too, but hiking and swimming was enjoyable in warm rain too.

A real tropical nature experience!
