May 20, 2011 Salvador da Bahia by Tatu Vuolteenaho Salvador is the 3rd biggest city in Brazil and it has everything: beaches, history, culture, fabulous food and hot weather. I was there 3 weeks at the beginning of my trip to Brazil and that was a perfect start for the trip. Carnival there was great too, saw the craziest dancers on the street and the manic drumming during the hot nights is just magical. I studied portuguese at the Dialogo school during the mornings and explored the city and the beaches in the afternoons and evenings. Family accomodation was a good choice.
