LLOYD JOHNSON: THE MODERN OUTFITTER

Chelsea Space is set to host an exhibition of Lloyd Johnson cult clothing designer whose Kings Road boutique was a hub of rock influenced fashion from the 70s. Johnson’s clientele ranged from the Sex Pistols, The Clash, Siouxsie Sioux, Jerry Lee Lewis to Liza Minellli, and perhaps most famously George Michael, the leather jacket in the video for Faith was a BSA LaRocka/Johnson’s.

The exhibit curated by Paul Gorman (The Look) will consist of core archive of garments, textiles, artwork, personal effects and ephemeria and will open the end of January next year.
