on the orange level
by Antonia Leslie

Accessories galore were here for the second collection of Humberto Leon and Carol Lim at the head of Kenzo. All manner of belts,I Pad covers, fur hats and big jewelry. A very buzzy atmosphere already surrounds the pair even after only one other show. The location was spectacular. The catwalk was on the three levels of the Pierre and Marie Curie University with girls visible on all floors through the 1970's style round cornered openings. Each level was a different colour and accessed by almost floating escalators. The looks consisted of solid winter fabrics with wool jerseys, brocades and tweeds. In fact none of that no season designing to be seen. A perfect tribute to Kenzo and his piling on of layers. There were grapes instead of flowers on cotton and exciting chunky knits as sleeves. Fun.
