go see odeeh
by Antonia Leslie

I looked at the wonderful glass roof for quite while before the show started as the rest of the Atelier Basfroi was quite bare. For their second show in Paris the Odeeh duo had some of the most interesting fabrics I have seen this season. Well yes i was close. There were red and white table cloth checks with what looked liked Russian fairy tale illustrations of chocolate people printed on top. Some other fabrics looked like brown wax paper crinkled after use and there were more cubist triangles printed on wool (I think) but in beautifully subtle colours. The shapes were simple, all the skirts knee length or longer, duster coats and tabard tops. But it was their use of fabrics and colours that set them apart and something that needs to be seen really close up. Take a look for yourself......
