February 16, 2005 Bigger is Better, Younger is Normal by SCOTTEE At the start of 2001 the news was full of debates around cosmetic surgery (COSS), it was all sparked off by 15yr old Jenna Franklin, who decided to have breast implants for her 16th birthday. Her mum, who herself had had 2 breast operations, and who runs her own COSS business, said she and her husband would happily pay the £3k for the operation. Teenagers having COSS is not new. It's been happening in the USA for years. Even over here the issue is old news. In 1998 the BBC investigated younger and younger girls having COSS, and plastic surgeons willing to offer it. In 1999 a survey reported women wanted; Melinda Messenger's breasts and thighs of Naomi Campbell, Recently WHSmith began stocking 'Cosmetic Surgery Magazine'. The shape of things to come?
