Sharon Wauchob’s shades of black
by Tatu Vuolteenaho

Irish Sharon Wauchob is one of those fashion designers who has studied at saint Martins and is getting known internationally. This collection shown in Paris was mostly black. Many people wear lots of black in the winter so it makes sense to make black clothes from commercial point of view, right? On a closer look there were many shades of black (and few other colours too) with variety of luxurious fabrics and clever cutting.
There was something gothic about these clothes and similarities with early 80’s Comme Des Garcons creations. Rock’n roll was there too with Wauchob’s revorked versions of leather jackets and vests. Cardigans had received their tretment too: Very nice good quality knitted fabric with neat buttons and – it was hanging like an evening dress with just one shoulder strap.
