March 5, 2005 AF Vandevorst’s winter wonderland by Tatu Vuolteenaho An Vandevorst and Filip Arickx, the design team behind A.F.Vandevorst had their Paris show at an ice skating arena. While ice skaters still occupied parts of the ice the models walked on it and managed not to fall. This environment and the bambi-like looks of the models created a winter fantasy feel. The clothes were pretty and feminine with lots of beiges, pale blues, pinks and greens. Lace, satin, chunky knits and fur (fake?) was used a lot. Fur was used in an interesting way, not necessarily just to keep warm, but to create an effect. There was for example a backless top with fur front. Big furry beige boots and metallic green platform shoes stood out as the choice of footwear in this show. www.totemfashion.com
