ACACIA
by Temposhark

I'm often asked what my favourite band is. I always give the same answer: Acacia. Although they only ever made one album, 'Cradle' released in 1997, Acacia remain a constant source of inspiration.

The band consisted of Alexander (voice), Guy Sigsworth (synthesiser, samples), Luca Ramelli (guitar) and Eshan K (percussives). The combination of their talents created an unusually mesmerising sound. From the manic rush of 'Wired' to their unique cover of The Smith's 'More You Ignore Me' onto the sublime beauty of 'Maddening Shroud', their album is filled to the brim with intelligent, forward thinking electronic pop. Whilst I'm not sure what the other members went on to do, Guy formed Frou Frou with Imogen Heap and produced artists including Bjork, Mandalay, Lamb and Madonna.
