March 18, 2005 HK 119 at Percymiller 23.3. – 15.4. by Tatu Vuolteenaho Go and see video works by HK119, (Heidi Kilpelainen) the Finnish artist who moves smoothly between the worlds of cabaret, pop music and contemporary art. The works, which feature punk baroque characterizations, have been influenced by the relationship between man and machine, dystopias, consumerism, popular culture and mass media. In this exhibition HK119 will be showing five of her video works, Pick Me Up, Excess, Malfunction (video still pictured), 11th ID, Censor Me, Neurotica and Buy Me. The gallery space will be transformed into an environment reminiscent of one of her stage sets.
