FLORENCE YIU
by Pauliina Pettit

Florence Yiu is one more new talent from Central St Martin's college of Art and Design, where she is studying her final year as BA women’s wear student.

She has gained experience by working for Preen, Jonathan Saunders and the most recently; she has taken in the skills learned from Hussein Chalayan. As a result she has created her unique style with an extreme attention to a detail, which has been embraced by many.

She was one of the finalists in a fashion competition organised by Fashion Awareness Direct, and one of the 15 finalists to show her garments, inspired by work of Dali, at V&A museum last year. She also showed her winning garment from competition "Silk Road Exhibition' at British Library during summer 2004.

She is certainly someone to look out for.
