Gregory Gilbert-Lodge 5 July - 30 July
by Kenny Campbell

The exhibition features a series of lush, super high quality screenprints. Produced by one of the best print houses in Europe, the print quality alone whispers softly of luxury and decadence. Fortunately Gregory’s illustrations are more than a match for the materials he uses. Mainly large scale, the prints are obsessively detailed and darkly humorous. Their elegant lines and perfect colour tread the line between illustration and fine art and are both intricate and deceptively simple. Every detail represents a considered decision, and it is this to which we can attribute the powerful overall impact of the exhibition. The result is accessible and subversive, simple yet intricately textured; very personal, varied and deeply covetable.
