Progreso Coffee
by Temposhark

A new chain of coffee bars is at the top of our list. Progreso was set up (with the help of Oxfam amongst others) as an alternative choice for those of us unhappy with the superbrand, identikit coffee houses.

London now has two Progreso coffee shops. One on Portobello Road and a second in Covent Garden's Neal Centre. They make amazing coffee, snacks and smoothies as well as hosting regular art shows and secret live gigs from popular bands.

The best part is that it's fair trade, meaning the coffee growers own a share of Progreso, so they profit directly from the success of the business. They also receive a guaranteed fair price for the coffee they supply.

Next time you fancy a coffee or muffin, try Progreso out. You can even play a game of table football while you're there.
