Jan Larsen Art Presents “Crossroads”
by Kenny Campbell

Curated by Rashaad Newsome “Crossroads” brings together the work of three New York based photographers. The photographs in the show address new movements in architecture, social concerns and realities of the world we live in today.
Cass Bird’s work examines social signifiers in America through explorations of masculinity and femininity. Her Images confront conservative ideas of sexual conformity and binary gender systems. While Jayson Keeling’s photographs of Jamaican shacks are elegies to a changing industrial landscape. They are a unique critique of the design history and the lack of privileges that have created them. Marco Tawil’s work is a provocative look at the ever-changing face of the Israeli army and the lives of the people associated with it.
