GARETH PUGH S/S 2006
by Princess Julia

Probably the most avant-garde of designers this season, Pugh's visionary forms eclipsed our wildest fantasies. Stiff patent leather waistcoats with extreme shoulder cutaways, a body suit which challenged the human form with huge ball extensions, a dripping creation in the form of a sublime loop knit dress, and for the finale a light -up coat which appeared to float. Having said that, within collection there were some very wearable pieces… draped coats and jackets in satin, fur and patent complimented with pants and vests that long to be worn. Exceptional make-up of melted wax masks from Alex Box and accessories from Judy Blame completed Pugh's concept of fashion extraordinaire.
