Greetings from Berlin
by Tatu Vuolteenaho

Berlin was enjoyable city in many ways. There was interesting architecture and art, beautiful parks, nice cafes, lovely people and exciting nightlife. The air felt clean, public transportation was efficient and there were no traffic jams. On top of that everything was cheap.

Unemployment seems to be the biggest problem in Berlin. It is bad if you are desperate for a job and a good salary. Ideas and thinking however don’t cost anything and it seems that many alternative concepts and viewpoints are emerging from Berlin. The ‘traffic sign’ picture here is a good example of this. It questions the concepts of capitalism and consumerism; kind of makes fun of them. Imagine all those ‘suits’ on London Bridge at 8.45 A.M. seeing this piece of street art while going to work in the City.
