A SILENT STAR AT THE FLAMING CAVE LOUNGE
by Jim Stanton

Scottee does it again! like a doomed goddess that never was she shook
and audibly quivered behind a gauze framed stage in a south london
boozer where the blacked out windows keep the secret safe. Pool balls
clacked, the first drunk fell off his bar stool, men boasted of loves
previously conquered then within seconds our ingenue reduced the
rowdy mass into a breathtaking silence. Her three minute tragedy was
based on the real life story of a jilted silver screen starlet who
took her own life in desperation and oh! how the sorrowful tears
rolled down our cheeks! When the closing bars of the dramatic piano
soundtrack collided with the modern reality of our lives she sat
down, slumped helplessley within a maelstrom of blinding stobe light.
