September 14, 2004 The Nomi Song by Alysson Gothz One of the most bizarre, and yet most fascinating names of the New Wave scene has now its own tribute documentary. "The Nomi Song" is a wonderful homage to Klaus Nomi, the German-born opera singer who got into New York's effervescent underground scene after being a back-up singer for Bowie and performing in venues like the Max's Kansas City. With a great look and innovative performances, Nomi released two official records and became a cult artist in the early 80's before dying of AIDS related illness.
