February 23, 2006 Pete Burns? The snake! by Xavior The recent Celebrity Big Brother had me glued to the set. I have of late given up on dear old TV but Cruella de TeleVille Pete Burn's lips sucked me back into its vortex. However, thanks to the hands on world of internet interactivity, television is rapidly becoming a dated medium after rivalling and conquering the fireplace and the cinema for the latter half of the twentieth century. The fusion of the warm intimacy of the fireplace with the distant cool of the impenetrable silver screen created a cultural revolution that allowed worldwide viewers to project their Romantic dreams onto the flickering lights of the compact television set.
