*How would you describe your work?

My work varies a lot, from performance to visual installations, photography and painting.

* Blood, your own blood, features in lots of your performances? Why such a blood fascination?

I use my blood because of the ritualistic expression. It is honest and pure I mean it runs though our veins everyday, if I cut you.. you bleed like I bleed.

Blood is love, blood is death, blood is a life force, blood is a connection. At my show some people like it, some are repelled by it.
I find people's reactions to blood are very extreme. It brings something to the surface. Something very visceral.

*What about pain, another one of your reoccurring themes?

Pain is a big part of love, like it or not.Pain is the catalyst for my transe.

*Describe your performance?

I am especially interested in the use of roses. Roses are the best representation of love, it s beautifull, organic but has thorns that stings like a bitch.I am basically exploring themes of love and loss, the resilience of broken heart and our yearning to heal and love again. It s about ecstatic and transcendetal states.

*Joey Arias, performer, cabaret singer, drag legendŠ.Is this your first collaboration ? How did you meet?

It was the first time Joey and I worked together, and I am quite happy about the chemistry that happened, this is a great collaboration, when it just works straight forward, no bullshit, just great magic!!! I met Joey 2 years ago in NYC, we bonded straight away. Joey is such a legend and one of a kind. Among all this amazingness comes so much kindness, love and sharing. Those people nearly don't exist in NYC!!!

*How did you end up hooking up with this particular piece?

The idea came from Joey doing a song about "The 2 of Us "( my blood writing piece). Straight away, I was like, Id love you to sing along me performing, and we ended up putting this show together. We were like, let's join forces to invocates the spirits.

*Ah, THE song. Amazingly haunting. Tell me more about that song?

That is Joey s secret, I wrote the piece and explained what it meant to me (of course it s about love again ) and he did put music on my acts. It s haunting me too,but Joey won't tell me what the song is. Believe me I m tryin to work the bitch out, but it remains a secret.

*What other artists are you inspired and influenced by or would love to collaborate with?

Gina Pane, Orlan, Antonin Artaud, Jean Genet, Journiac, Franko B, Aktionists, Ron Athey

*What's next for you, busy boy?

It s all about USA!! Chicago and California in February.I'll also be in mexico in December/January. Got some big stuff coming out soon that I can t really talk about but you probably wont be able to miss it. Also got a book coming out "The 2 of Us" and a documentary about my experience in Sri Lanka. More work coming out in collaboration with my husband Chris Sutton.

*You also run, between London and Berlin, AKA project, a multidisciplinary art space, and platform for tattoo artists?

I'm very grateful to Berlin, where i created the AKA project. AKA is now in London as well, and one of the most referenced place in terms of tattoo.

I am involved in the tattoo scene and found an developped the career of people like Guy le taooer, Rafel delalande, Jessica Mach and Peter Aurisch, Valentin Hirsch, Philippe fernandez... all those has been under my influence and followed my mastering to become accomplished today.
