Bright bright and happy was the Manish Arora show at the Palais de Tokyo, one of this season's favourite venues where the stark concrete and white interior was totally appropriate for all the colours and fun. The looks had a kitsch Japanese side to them and made one think of gadgets and toys. They would have been at home in any of the parks in Tokyo or a Murakami exhibition. All sorts of eye catching details went past, fluorescent fringes, fabric woven bracelets, tassels and printed back packs, all reinforcing the influence of Japanese street wear. The shapes were very simple but covered in the usual unbeatable embroidery of all kinds and in that density, only done by Manish. What a journey of styles and ending up in Tokyo Paris.
