I always think the parquet floor of the Salon Imperial at the Westin hotel gives a very special look to any fashion show. All the models appear to have been invited to a debutant ball and are just walking around to show off their ball gowns. Any reference to debutants stopped at the floor and my imagination. This was a very dark show using all the burnt plums to midnight navy. She gave lightness to the silhouettes by using very light latex which shone, or sections of sudden transparency showing very female parts of the body, such as rounded thighs and undulating torsos. The only light colour was a pearl grey oversize fur coat or grabbed in the hand fluffy handbags. My neighbour at that point said that she had noticed that her season was all about the way you held your handbag. Thank you Miss Wachaub for your infinite play on the dark side.
