The Sonia by Sonia Rykiel presentation was in a very beautiful hotel particulier in the Marais district of Paris. Years ago it used to be the Romeo Gigli clothes shop. It has gone through many changes and is now a venue for hire. Lavender and orange ribbons were chosen to separate the large space into narrower catwalks and we stood at one end watching the girls march by. It had a 1960's beach house feel (remember the plastic ribbon curtains). Very intelligent casting gave the clothes that perfect ordinary look but with an edge. Of course there were the signature stripes but teamed with strict pencil skirts or oversize fake fur coats, which added a winter vicuna gangster look to fun spots. The colours covered all the spectrum but were mixed in unusual ways. Thank you to La Maison Rykiel for a very clever presentation.
