I was sitting right in front of the guitarist which made me think that I was at a Patti Smith concert, or even watching a busker without the street and the cap to collect the money. The models, who seemed to be oblivious to the music, were in mainly greys with interruptions of trompe l'oeil, giving food for thought and details to look at. There was an integral wool bra with a shirt, a v neck hiding a plunging bustier and a twin set as a one piece jumper. This use of feminine classics as deception but done in a monochrome way played happily on the border of masculinity. A wink to the world of Magritte. There were further interruptions with flatpack or 3d cable knit, boys school shorts with transparent trouser legs and printed play on pleats and creases. Interwoven with the grey were injections of bright blues, juicy peaches and a rich cosy ivory. Even with these colours Viktor and Rolf stayed in the realm of boyhood. Thank you Mr Horsting and Mr Snoeren for "ceci n'est pas un defile".
